MATRIX 20 Reloaded / EPI 2015

The founder of Swiss pattern design company Matrix, designer Fabia Zindel invited 10 artists from different disciplines to work on new graphic designs based on Matrix scarf collections.

Nathalie Lautenbacher worked together with Naoto Niidome: "We borrowed directly the geometrical letter E from Zindel´s original Eliot foulard. We used lots of paper copies for exploding the composition in one to one scale on the floor. The construction got naturally a shape that reminds of botanical characters. We found a shape that looks like a cod, épi in French."

The outcome of the project – 10 new silk foulards were exhibited in Rappaz Museum Basel and Stadtgalerie Chur, Switzerland 2015.
